We Care

We look after a number if different woods and we keep them open for our members to explore and enjoy. We want to make sure that there is a space for the generations that come after us to feel inspired by the preservation of our natural land.

OUR SITES

Ardan Wood

Ardan Wood was the first woodland site that the Trust acquired.

Blessington

The Blessington reserve was acquired in 2010 and 16.5 acres situated in County Wicklow

Camcor

Camcor is 21 acres of a larger forested area, beside theSlieve Bloom mountains in Co. Offaly.

Coill na Luise

Coill na Luise, meaning “wood of the rowan”  is situated beside the Wicklow Way.

Farnaght

A 7 acres of former agricultural land in a rural area on the Leitrim side of the Longford-Leitrim border

Grace Dieu

The Grace Dieu is a 7.5 acre site created during construction work for the Waterford city bypass.

Girley Wood

Girley Bog covers over 250 acres and shares a loop walk. 

Humphreystown

The seven and a half acre site sits south of Blessington lakes. 

Lecarrow

Located in Roscommon and believed to be one of Ireland’s few remaining ancient woodlands.

St. Johns Wood

St. John’s Wood in Roscommon is one of Ireland’s largest surviving ancient woodlands, over 260 acres

Toradh

Situated by Lough Toradh above Glen Lough in the north of the county over 21.77 acres.
