Trees for schools was a tree planting initiative sponsored by Wyeth Medica, with media sponsorship from the Irish Independent, in which National Schools around the country were able to apply for a bundle of 30 trees to plant on their grounds; they were able to choose a bundle suitable to the size of ground they had available for planting. It was an extremely successful project, resulting in over 200 schools nationwide taking part, and many holding planting days for the children to plant the trees. The pack sent out to schools included a booklet on how to identify and plant trees, and an A3 poster to invite people to come help with the planting. |
