On January 28th, we held a walk from Laragh village, up to the Trust site overlooking Annamoe, led by our new Education and Reserves officer, Kieran Flood. We were lucky with the weather as rain was forecast for the early afternoon, but held off, and we had a good turnout of about two dozen people.
On the way up, Kieran explained some of the history of the local area, and we had a good opportunity to chat to the attendees about the trust, many of whom came from the local area, so we also learned a lot from them about the locality! We had lunch in the Mountain Meithealhut at the top of the site, and then walked down into the site to explain the layout and future plans for it. All in all, a nice relaxing few hours walk!

The site can be seen in this photo; it comprises the two fields in front of the Coillte plantation.
